How the Partnership Works
At Saints Classical Academy, students attend classes two days per week. On those days, they receive instruction from trained teachers in a structured classroom environment. On the remaining days, parents guide their children through assigned work at home — reading, copywork, math practice, and project work.
This division of labor is intentional. Teachers bring expertise in their subjects, experience in classroom management, and the ability to lead group discussions and activities. Parents bring knowledge of their own children — their strengths, struggles, interests, and pace. Neither is sufficient alone. Together, they provide an education that is both rigorous and personal.
Communication Is Everything
The partnership only works if communication is constant and clear. Our teachers provide detailed weekly lesson plans so parents know exactly what to cover on home days. They also provide regular feedback on student progress — not just grades, but observations about character, engagement, and growth.
Parents, in turn, communicate what they are seeing at home. Is a child struggling with a concept? Breezing through the work? Losing motivation? These insights help teachers adjust their instruction and support.
Parents as Primary Educators
The classical tradition has always recognized parents as the primary educators of their children. The school exists to support and extend the work of the family — not to replace it. This conviction shapes everything we do, from our schedule to our curriculum to our culture.
When parents are actively engaged in their children's education, students thrive. They see learning as a family value, not just a school requirement. They develop habits of responsibility and self-direction that serve them for life.
A Community of Learners
The parent-teacher partnership extends beyond individual families. At Saints Classical, parents know each other. They share resources, encouragement, and practical advice. The result is a community — not just a school — where families are growing together in wisdom and faith.
