A Book of Centuries is a notebook arranged by historical periods. Students enter selected names, events, drawings, quotations, maps, or artifacts as they encounter them in reading and study.
The value lies not in filling every space. A restrained collection allows important entries to stand out and leaves room for the student's understanding to mature.
When students place a composer near a war, a scientific discovery near a council, or an author near a ruler, history stops looking like separate subject boxes. They begin to ask what was happening elsewhere at the same time.
