The Gap Many Homeschool Families Feel
You chose homeschooling for good reasons - flexibility, family values, tailored learning. But at some point, especially in the upper grades, many families feel the strain:
- Teaching Latin, logic, or advanced science on your own feels overwhelming
- Your student needs peer interaction and accountability beyond the family
- You want a structured curriculum but do not want to hand over your child full-time
- You are tired and need support, but co-ops are not rigorous enough
If any of that sounds familiar, a tutorial might be exactly what you need.
What a Tutorial Is (and Is Not)
A tutorial is not a school. And it is not a co-op. It sits in between:
- Professional teachers - not parent volunteers rotating subjects
- Structured curriculum - Latin (Wheelock), logic, rhetoric, Novare science, great books
- Formal grades and assessments - tracked through our Classica LMS
- Dedicated campus - 11,000 sq ft on 3.5 acres at Southview Church
- But parents stay in charge - you are still the primary educator. We support your family, not replace it.

Frequently Asked Questions
You are not teaching from scratch - teachers handle instruction on campus. At home, your role is more like a coach: making sure your student completes assignments, stays on track, and has the space to do deep work. The Classica LMS keeps everything transparent.
Yes. Many families add their own materials for home days - additional reading, electives, or subjects that are important to their family. The tutorial provides the classical core; you have flexibility on everything else.
Co-ops rely on parent volunteers to teach. Saints Classical has professional teachers, a set classical curriculum, formal grading, and a dedicated campus. It is more structured and more rigorous than a typical co-op.
