This policy explains how Saints Classical Academy ("Saints," "we," or "the school") handles information in the Saints mobile app and its connected learning-management portal. The app is provided for students, parents or guardians, teachers, and authorized school staff.
Information handled by the app
- Account and profile information: name, school role, email address, phone number, profile photo, authentication credentials, and notification preferences.
- Student and family information: family relationships, grade level, class enrollment, house, birthdate when supplied, and other school-managed student records available to an authorized user.
- Academic and attendance information: classes, assignments, completion status, attachments, grades, teacher feedback, lesson plans, and attendance.
- Communications and content: messages, message attachments, reactions, announcements, events, clubs, and reports submitted about messages.
- Device and service information: device identifiers and push-notification tokens used to deliver notifications, plus ordinary server security and diagnostic records.
How information is used
We use this information to operate the school portal and app; authenticate users; provide role-appropriate academic, attendance, calendar, club, and communication features; deliver requested notifications; support users; protect student safety; review reported content; troubleshoot service problems; and meet school, safety, and legal obligations.
Access and sharing
Access is limited according to school roles and relationships. For example, students may access their own records, parents or guardians may access records for children connected to their family, and teachers and staff receive access needed for their responsibilities. We may use service providers that support hosting, email, file delivery, and Apple push notifications. We do not sell personal information or use app information for third-party advertising.
Children and school-managed records
The app is an educational service operated for the school community. Student accounts and records are managed within the school's educational relationship with families. Parents or guardians should contact the school with questions about access to a student's information.
Retention and deletion requests
Information is retained while needed to provide school services and as required for legitimate educational, safety, operational, recordkeeping, and legal purposes. Exact retention periods vary by record type and applicable school requirements. An authenticated user may initiate an account-deletion request in the app, or contact us using the details below. A request starts a staff review; it does not immediately erase records. School-managed student, academic, attendance, financial, safety, and legal records may need to be retained, transferred to another responsible account, or handled under applicable requirements. We will explain the outcome of the review.
Security
We use authenticated access and role-based controls intended to protect school information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your password and notify the school if you believe an account has been compromised.
Your choices
Users can manage available notification preferences in the app. You may ask to review, correct, or request deletion of information by contacting the school. Access or deletion may be limited where the school must preserve an educational or legal record.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or school requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
